Does healthy weight loss for women include counting calories?

If you have ever spent the day adding up your calories you know what a chore it is. It's so easy to make a mistake when you are measuring your portions.

You end up eating more than you planned. You play little tricks on yourself. You tell yourself things like "The cookie is broken and that means all the calories are released into thin air." You know it's not true but it makes for an amusing excuse.

Specific government guidelines for nutrition continue to change, so I'm not going to get into details. You will want to create a plan for yourself that includes your personal likes and dislikes including any ethnic preferences.

A healthy weight loss program includes a plan to keep the weight off after you have lost it. Otherwise you are likely to gain it all back.

Who's Standards?

Most women who think they are overweight are referring to their own standards which tend to be highly influenced by media images. Women tend to think they are overweight even when they are not.

These thoughts of being overweight give them feelings of despair or inadequacy.

If you are still counting calories then know that there is a better way.

Weight Loss Help For Women

Instead of worrying excessively about your weight or about how many calories you consume, realize that it's all about feelings. Realize that you can feel good about yourself right now.

Otherwise you may find that you have lost a lot of weight and you're still not happy with yourself. You'll just be thinner.
