You're not as likely to find men in structured weight loss programs where you have to attend a weekly meeting and talk about diets. There's a bit of an embarrassment factor involved there.

I'm not talking about the physical pain of a strenuous workout. The no pain, no gain philosophy means that you must get through the difficulty and stress of learning or doing something new so that you can reap the rewards later. This type of 'tough it out' attitude keeps your eye on the goal. Others may give up on their goals because they are stressed out in the moment.
