Here is the weight loss chart I now use.
I have always been heavy. I was the chubbiest in my class in 5th grade for instance. Even though I was not athletic I remember being asked to go to play with the older boys in football because I was too big for my age group. I later had to interview to stay in my age group. The coaches said that I was obviously not athletic and could stay with kids my age. How embarrassing.
I have been dieting ever since. It is difficult for a boy that wants to be big and small at the same time to diet. I wanted to be big like the Hulk. (Girls being obsessed with looking like Barbie have nothing in the way of problems over us boys)
The good news is that my story has been one of winning the yo-yo diet war. I have won by persistence, not some quick miracle cure. I have had and used a scale ever since. Every time I go 5 to 10 pounds over, I go on a diet. I used to use graph paper to chart my weight, now I use Excel charts. it only takes about 2 sec per day.
I weigh whether I am on a diet or not. It is probably more important to weigh when I am not on a diet.
