Anxiety is:

...a fear of what might happen

... worry over things that might go wrong

... very similar to various phobias.

Some people live in the past and that’s called regret. Anxiety is when you live in the future.

Perhaps you find yourself having panic attacks when you think about your finances. Or maybe you get stressed about what might happen to someone you love.

Some worry about what will happen to their children if something happens to them.

Others suffer from test anxiety and freeze up during performance on a test.

These are all thoughts of things that may or may not happen in the future. We can’t control the future. We can only control what we are doing now.

Anxiety Management Techniques

The use of self hypnosis for stress management can help you to replace that feeling of anxiety with a feeling of peace and calm. Whatever happens in the future will still happen. Yet, right now, you can feel calm and peaceful.

I have two favorite ways for you to achieve this wonderful state.

The first is to use your mind power by creating autosuggestion for self talk. Put yourself into a light trance by using a hypnosis script and then read your personalized autosuggestion statements. Hopefully, a light bulb will turn on and you will open up a whole new way of thinking.

The second way is actually an NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) technique called anchoring. It’s a quick and easy tip that you can use to bring a sense of calmness anytime you need it.

In fact, anchoring is such an easy thing to do that you can use it for other things in your life.

Anchoring is actually a naturally occurring experience. Not sure?

Have you been listening to the radio when a certain song plays? A song that suddenly brings back memories long forgotten?

That’s an anchor. An audio anchor to be specific.

I’m going to share with you a method to create a kinesthetic anchor. This is an anchor using touch.

Four Steps to Creating an Anchor for Anxiety Management

1. Sit quietly and take a deep breath

2. Think of something that makes you really happy

3. Keep thinking of it until you can vividly see it OR deeply feel the happiness

4. Create the anchor by pinching your index finger together with your thumb.

Now you have an anchor that you can use whenever you feel a sense of anxiety Hypnosis combined with NLP is very powerful! When you need it, simply pinch your index finger together with your thumb, sit back, relax and enjoy the feeling.

Self hypnosis is a wonderful anxiety management technique because it helps you to put your focus on what you want. Not on the anxiety.
