Are You Thinking of Giving Up Smoking?

Think for a moment about your reasons for giving up smoking.

Perhaps you want to improve your health. There may be some worries about cancer or heart attacks. You may be troubled by coughing or have difficulty breathing. With the use of self hypnosis, smoking can be wiped out once and for all.

You realize that once you commit to quitting, smoking will no longer affect your health. Instead, you’ll be dancing at your grandchildren’s wedding, traveling around the world or enjoying a nice refreshing walk.

Some smokers believe that there are no health implications involved with smoking. They believe that it can’t happen to them. “I’ll believe it when I see it. Nothing has happened to me yet.”

Do you want to carry an oxygen tank on wheels? A very real possibility if you continue to smoke.

Some continue to smoke, believing that it relaxes them. They program themselves into believing it, when in reality, nicotine doesn’t cause relaxation.

One of my smoking cessation clients is a wife and mother. When she smokes, she is reminded of the feeling of being 'cool' in high school. Now that she is older and has a family, smoking a cigarette quickly brings that feeling back for her.

It can be helpful to know the root cause of this compulsive habit, but whether or not you do, you can still break the habit. Habits can be broken as quickly and easily as they are created.

Do you believe that ‘It’s hard to quit’?

The main reason you continue to smoke is because you do it unconsciously.

These behavior patterns are deeply programmed in the unconscious mind. You are not even really aware of your habits and accept these beliefs without question.

The conscious mind causes you to rationalize your smoking habit.

When you become consciously aware of the patterns of your habit, you can change them. With self hypnosis you can replace these patterns with new more useful ones.

Wouldn’t you rather feel calmness, relaxation and increased energy?

Does this sound familiar?

• Sitting with a cup of coffee and relaxing.

• Having a drink with friends in a bar.

• Break time at work with co-workers.

These are common times to reach for a cigarette. What I have found during hypnosis sessions with clients is that there can be a fear of wondering what to expect after quitting.

Smoking and the rituals surrounding it take up a LOT of time!

It takes an average of five to seven minutes to smoke a cigarette. This does not include the time for preparation such as buying cigarettes and going to the smoking area. Smoking while looking around and talking to people takes an average of seven to eight minutes per cigarette.

If you smoke fifteen cigarettes per day, how much time do you spend smoking? That’s a lot of time!

You may say to yourself “What am I going to do with all that empty time during the day?”

When you quit smoking, you’ll have more free time and need to be prepared to fill it. You’ll be able to complete things that have been put on the back burner.

Quitting smoking with hypnosis has one of the highest success rates of all methods used to stop smoking. Self hypnosis can be used successfully without withdrawal symptoms or anxiety.

After a personal session with a client who was successful with giving up smoking, she began to enjoy the simple experience of breathing again. She started to take more time to breathe deeply and found it very calming.

During my workshops I talk about how your cigarette has been a friend. It was always there for you as a friend. During times of stress it was comforting. You may unconsciously be afraid to say goodbye to a friend who offered unconditional support during an important part of your life; a friend who was there during times of happiness or sadness.

It’s like giving up a long lost friend who was always there for you.
